A WORKBENCH, NOT A BLACK BOX

About SubwooferTools.

A practical reference for planning and checking low-frequency loudspeaker systems. Built around the idea that you should be able to see the math.

A workbench, not a black box

SubwooferTools is a reference for planning and checking low-frequency loudspeaker systems. Every calculator is paired with its equations so that builders can see what was assumed, reproduce a calculation, and recognize where a simplified model ends.

Practical questions come first

How large is the net box? Will the port fit? What happens below tuning? Is the passive radiator large enough? What changes when the wiring or high-pass filter changes?

The site brings together 17 calculators, practical building guides, and a shared reference for units and assumptions. There is no single best enclosure for every driver, room, and output target.

A model is not a measurement

Calculations cannot certify a driver's power handling, predict the precise response of an untreated room, or replace measurement of a completed build.

Design, build, measure, and adjust. A prediction becomes useful when you know how to test it.

Help make the reference better

If you find an error, prepare a correction with the page, inputs, expected result, and your measurement or derivation. Clear, reproducible reports make the tools more useful for everyone.
